Hi Darshin

As Jenni says initially aspirations can last a while but unfortunately the synovial fluid will build up again over time. Sometimes it can be controlled by the RA meds generally so fingers crossed this will be the case for you. My knees always produce loads of the yucky stuff but it's better out than in and such a relief too to have it removed!

I had a synovectomy/debridement plus cartilage repair last year. Rather hoped it would keep the knee ticking over a while longer but it doesn't seem to be happening! Off to orthopaedics on Friday to see about two bad knees, an ankle that isn't functioning as it should, several subluxated metacarpophalangeal joints and severe ulnar drift of right hand as a result! Such fun ... I just love the hospital LOL

Heyho on we go, no choice best just get on with it!

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

Oh god Jenni, Lyn it all sounds so gruesome.

I wish the "Bionic Woman" and "six million dollar man" technology were real!! RollEyes

Then I could be really positive about joint replacement/repair..should it come to that..!
